Smart Job Fill stores profile information and learned field mappings locally in the user's browser. It does not send this information to the developer or external servers, and it never submits job application forms.

About Smart Job Fill

Smart Job Fill is a Chrome extension that helps users save reusable job-application information and fill matching fields on application websites after the user clicks Autofill.

Information handled

Depending on what the user chooses to enter or teach the extension, Smart Job Fill may handle:

• Name, email address, telephone number and postal address.
• City, region, country and other location information entered in the profile.
• Professional profile, portfolio and website URLs.
• Job-application answers, including motivation and user-created custom answers.
• Text from a PDF résumé selected by the user for local profile extraction.
• Form labels, questions, field names, identifiers, placeholders and autocomplete attributes.
• Website hostnames used to remember user-defined field mappings for a particular website.

How information is used

Smart Job Fill uses this information only to provide its job-application autofill features:

• Saving the user's reusable application profile.
• Extracting supported profile details from a user-selected PDF résumé on the user's device.
• Detecting fields that match saved profile categories.
• Inserting saved values after the user chooses to run Autofill.
• Remembering categories, question examples and website-specific field mappings taught by the user.

Local storage and retention

Profile information, custom answers, learned examples and website mappings are stored locally using Chrome extension storage. The developer does not operate a server that receives this information. Selected PDF files and their extracted raw text are not retained after processing; only detected profile values are saved. Locally stored information remains until the user changes it or removes the extension. A mapping for an individual website can be removed using Forget learned fields for this site.

Autofill and job application websites

When the user clicks Autofill, Smart Job Fill reads supported form information on the selected page and inserts matching saved values into that page. The destination job application website may receive those values if the user subsequently submits the form. Smart Job Fill does not submit forms; users are expected to review all filled values and decide whether to submit them.

Sharing, sale and advertising

Smart Job Fill does not sell personal information, share it with data brokers or advertising platforms, use it for targeted advertising, or use it to determine creditworthiness or for lending purposes. It does not use analytics or tracking services.

Permissions

• Storage: saves the user's profile and learned mappings locally.
• Scripting: runs field detection and autofill after the user requests it.
• Active tab: temporarily accesses the current page after the user requests autofill.

Security

Smart Job Fill is designed to keep handled information on the user's device and does not transmit it to the developer. Users should protect access to their browser profile and review all populated fields before submitting an application.

The use of information received from Chrome APIs adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated when Smart Job Fill's functionality or data practices change. Any updated policy will appear on this page with a revised effective date.
